Keeping your feedback in account, we've made several key upgrades to our most used feature - the data studio. Here are some of them.

Since the launch of data studio in 2017, it has become one of the most used features on Almabase. It is the one-stop place for you as admins to work with your most up-to-date alumni data. It makes it incredibly simple for you to segment your alumni based on any data point that you have on them. You can even export this information, send them an email or perform other actions on the records.
But we received a lot of feedback from all of you, regarding a few functions that need to be improved. Taking your word into account, we made several key upgrades to the data studio.
Here are some of them :
Let’s say you’re organizing an event in Boston and want to invite everyone in the 50-mile radius to that event, how would you invite all of them? Earlier, you used to have to find all those cities and enter them manually into the city filter. Now you can start with a city or even a zip code and then choose a radius around it.

Data studio will then show you all the alumni that live in the area defined. You can then create an email group and you’re all set! As always, if another alum moves into the area, they are automatically added to that group. Look for the “AREA” filter on your data studio.
We’ve made it easier for you to take single click actions on various features of the platform. You will now be taken to the data studio with the appropriate data and actions pre-loaded for you to confirm. For instance, if you are on the directory and want to pull a list of everyone you’re currently seeing, you can now do that with a single click.

Birthdays are a great occasion for you to engage with your alumni and we’ve introduced a filter to make it easier for you to keep track of upcoming birthdays. Using the data studio birthday filter you can now see which alumni are celebrating birthdays today, this week or even this month.

Last but not the least, we’ve done a complete design refresh to make the data studio more user-friendly and also respond to user actions much faster. You will notice a visible difference in the speed while working on the data studio.

We hope you enjoy this new experience. Please do keep your feedback coming in as always.

As we continue our focus on user engagement, we are today laying the foundation for what we envision to be one of the primary drivers of engagement on your platform... Feeds!
Feeds have been around on Social Media for almost as long as they have existed — so it is by no means a new concept. Over the next few quarters, you will start to see your Almabase platform utilize feeds as the primary driver for engagement and user-generated content.
This is just the beginning and there is a long way to go. But we are excited to announce that Starting today, our first version of feeds will be available on all events on the new events module. Over time, users will be able to interact with the feed on other features such as Groups as well.
1. User-generated content that other users can comment or like.
2. Admins can delete any post or comment at any time.
3. Users can report violations or abuse on any content created by other users.
4. Users can now share photos to the feed.
5. Only logged-in users can post content.
6. Administrators can hide the entire feed if required.

Feeds are finally here.

Blackbaud’s CRM tools are popular among our partner schools. We saw that a lot of you are finding a new favorite from the Blackbaud suite of CRM tools called Raiser’s Edge NXT. It is a lightweight tool with a simple and usable user interface, a significant improvement over its predecessor Raiser’s Edge 7.
If you haven’t migrated, you should probably consider it now. We understand that having data on multiple systems is very hard to maintain. A lot of schools usually resort to expensive third-party integration tools. We wanted to make things easier and hence built the RE NXT integration tool.
With our new integration tool, you will be able to seamlessly push the updated constituent data from Almabase platform to RE NXT or pull from RE NXT to Almabase platform. With this, you can be assured of having updated data all the time by keeping both the systems in sync.
To get started, you can instantly connect both the systems by authorizing your permission to connect to your Blackbaud account. (Look for Raiser’s Edge NXT Integration on your admin panel navigation)

Once connected, you have to map the Almabase properties and RE NXT properties. These mappings will help the tool to compare the values and find probable matches. For example “Mobile Number” on Almabase could be equivalent to “Cell Phone” on RE NXT.

Now you are all set to sync the records.
On the Almabase profile, we have given you options to either Push to RE NXT or Pull from RE NXT.

Several of our customers are already using and enjoying the benefits of our integration tool.
Alumni information on the Almabase platform is usually more up-to-date. This is because our software pulls in information from LinkedIn and Facebook regularly. It also enables users to update their profiles when the need be.
We offer you have full control over what information needs to be copied to RE NXT. For example, you can choose Residence Phone Number to be copied to RE NXT and set it to be the primary contact.

Similarly, you can pull the most relevant data from RE NXT to the Almabase platform. The user interface is simple. Pick and choose the information you wish to save, and you can preview the changes that are going to be saved.

As a Blackbaud Certified Partner, we seamlessly integrate with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT, helping you sync constituent information including education, employment history, event registrations, gifts, and more.
