For this edition of Almabase Spotlights featuring Liberal Arts Colleges, we shine the spotlight on Marietta College’s fundraising success at their Giving Day in 2020.
💡An Idea That Helped Marietta College raise $192,000 on their Giving Day
A big part of what made Marietta College’s fundraising efforts so successful was their creative approach to engaging with their alumni. They have experimented with several campaigns in the past that have worked well for them. Here’s the campaign that stood out for us.
💡 The #Luv4MC Social Media Campaign
To gather alumni support for their Giving Day 2020 that’s celebrated each year on the college’s Founder’s Day, 14th February, Marietta College launched the #Luv4MC campaign on social media. The social media campaign was launched right before the giving day and helped build momentum. #Luv4MC encouraged Marietta alums to come forward and share stories and pictures about why they love their college. This unique, heartfelt engagement strategy created a ripple-effect that encouraged other alumni to advocate for the campaign and helped the college raise over $192,000 from 1,210 donors!
